Participation in large industry events is an efficient way for a company to not just stay in the heart of activities but also achieve a number of objectives, such as comparing its own understanding of trend development with how things actually roll, strengthening already-established business contacts, and exploring new collaboration opportunities at the same time.
Those were the goals of Auriga’s experts when they visited one of the largest international exhibitions for telecommunications, control systems, IT, and communication services, Sviaz-Expocomm-2014, which was held in Moscow on May 12–16. According to the organizers, nearly 500 companies from 24 countries participated in the event, which occupied a total area of 25,000 sq.m.
Organizers and exhibitors celebrated innovation in telecommunications by showcasing interesting solutions in the field. Those that caught the attention of our experts included a low-attenuation optical fiber; a single-fiber 10G optical transmission system, industrial Ethernet switches for oil, energy, transport, and other industries; IP-cameras with SIP support; VoIP GSM gateways; IP phones; unique navigation systems for commercial properties; and many more.
Andrey Medarev, Auriga’s Sales Director in Russia, says,
“Participation in large industry events is a common practice for a successful IT company. Auriga is a regular guest at the key events in Russia, Europe, and the US. In Russia, our top priority is establishing contacts with Russian manufacturers and building awareness of our brand and services (outsourcing software development). In this regard, our expectations from Sviaz-Expocomm have been exceeded.”
Auriga’s experience encompasses more than 20 years of delivering high-class software development projects for telecom product vendors and equipment manufacturers worldwide. During this time, our engineers have participated in dozens of different projects, starting from the development of system-level software for AdvancedTCA-, CompactPCI-based systems and high-availability solutions, and multi-user videoconferencing solutions and ending with the development of a real-time video transcoding service and a full-function softphone. Our latest projects in this area include:
- Development of drivers for 10Gbit Ethernet controllers
- A new Chassis Manager product to control and monitor VITA-based systems
- Development of image-compression and protected transmission algorithms for portable digital devices
Our engineers are closely involved in the development of the industry-wide PICMG (PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group) standards family. The PICMG is a consortium of over 250 companies, including, for example, Intel and Motorola, who collaboratively develop open specifications for high-performance telecommunications and industrial computing applications.
