Rhode Island Department of Corrections (RIDOC) is a state agency that contributes to public safety by maintaining a balanced correctional system of institutional and community programs that provide a range of control and rehabilitative options for criminal offenders.

SOLUTION

Drug Testing System (DTS) is a web-based/PDA application designed to automate the selection (random, for cause, treatment), collection, transfer/tracking, testing, sanctions, and treatment design processes related to substance abuse testing of inmates within a state wide corrections system. The DTS greatly enhances overall process increasing accuracy, saving time, managing chain of custody, and reducing risk of corruption. DTS readily integrates into existing back end systems allowing for real time status reporting at all stages of process.
