Auriga at Roboconf 2014

September 16, 2014

When it comes to robotics, reality is still well behind science fiction. But that does not mean that actual robots will not live up to their science fiction counterparts at one point or another, especially when the rapid development of several advanced technologies in recent years has opened up entirely new possibilities and moved us even closer to the age of robotics.

In no small measure, robotics will depend on the Internet of Things (IoT). It’s just the natural evolution of technology—machines and devices connected into functioning, intelligent systems, the Internet-powered robots.

The merger of the IoT and robotics creates a new environment andunparalleled opportunities based on the close integration of the real and virtual worlds where we can communicate with devices and devices can communicate with each other.

With all that in mind, and having accumulated extensive experience and knowledge in the field of software development for robotics and IoT, Auriga headed to the Robotics Conference, Roboconf 2014, which was held in Moscow on September 12, 2014, within the frame of the Gadget Fair.

Artem Aputin, Auriga’s Project Manager, presented a case study, Implementation of IoT technologies in a classic niche software development project, in which he discussed how the IoT concept has been introduced to a classic software enhancement project. In his presentation, Mr. Aputin covered such topics as

  • The transition from monolithic systems to flexible services
  • The use of cloud technologies
  • The use of mobile devices for fast data capturing
  • The additional use of Google Glass to facilitate information gathering
  • Further prospects for the development and integration of a mobile app with various sensors

The conference also featured speakers from Microsoft, Intel, and other companies.

According to Artem Aputin,

Roboconf 2014 was an interesting event that offered a great opportunity to participate in the advancement of the robotics and IoT industry through networking and interaction with other robotics and IoT professionals. Auriga has a unique combination of embedded, interoperability, and mobile expertise as well as experience delivering complex solutions with complicated business logic. Keeping in mind our projects with cutting-edge technologies—such as Google Glass or Tizen, for example—our company is  a great choice for anyone who has projects in the area of embedded software development.

If you have a challenging task or an innovative embedded project, Auriga’s experts would be happy to estimate the project’s costs and draw up a technical proposal with a description of the architecture for the solution and technologies for its implementation.
