Russian Healthcare Week: Innovations in Medicine

December 15, 2015

On December 7–11, Moscow hosted the key healthcare industry event in Russia: Russian Healthcare Week International Scientific and Practical Forum. More than ten specialized events and conferences took place within the frames of this huge event, and over 1,000 Russian and global companies—including Philips, Toshiba, Physiomed, Storz, Fujifilm, Hitachi, Samsung, Heinemann, Mindray, and other key market players—presented their innovative solutions for diagnostics and the treatment and prevention of diseases.

The event’s agenda included presentations from leading experts of the healthcare industry, panel discussions, and seminars, covering all major global and regional problems, market trends, and opportunities for specialized technology products and medical equipment manufacturers.

The healthcare industry attracts a lot of interest nowadays, and the medical technologies market is estimated to reach 500 billion dollars in the near future. Healthcare is becoming more personalized, which means that wearable and mobile solutions for health monitoring, medication administration systems, and similar solutions will continue gaining momentum.

The implementation of common standards and the interoperability of medical equipment remain some of the hottest topics in the area of healthcare solutions development. This issue was also discussed at Russian Healthcare Week. Recently, Auriga conducted market research to uncover trends and challenges related to the interoperability of medical devices and information systems. You can find the results of the research here:

Auriga’s experts were especially interested in the section on healthcare IT. A recognized leader in this area, Auriga has completed over 50 projects in the last few years, including system-level and embedded software development for patient monitoring solutions, respiratory medical devices, and infusion pumps; support of interoperability of medical devices with peripheral equipment; automation of information flows within hospital information systems; development of remote monitoring systems; etc.

Vitaly Zyuzin, Auriga’s account manager, commented on the participation in the expo show:

Auriga is a regular guest at industry healthcare events. That’s one of the focus areas of our business activities. Mainly, we participate in such events in the U.S. and Europe, but I must say that Russian Healthcare Week was on par with European and American shows. I was pleasantly surprised with the exhibitors’ list, presented solutions, and quality of leads—the main reasons forour participation in such events. We had an opportunity to discuss potential collaboration with a number of attractive companies that are interested in using cutting-edge technologies to create personalized solutions in healthcare, which is our strong suit. We will definitely be returning to this event next year.
