Hannover Messe 2016: Industry 4.0, Automation, and Digitalization

At the end of April, Auriga’s experts participated in the 2016 edition of the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology, Hannover Messe 2016, held in Hannover, Germany. The event included five action-packed days of applications-oriented forums, special conferences, riveting panel discussions, and remarkable presentations of high-calibre speakers from business, research, and government.

Hannover Messe 2016 gathered over 190,000 professional visitors and more than 5,200 exhibitors from 75 countries, including the EU member states, China, and the USA as this year’s Partner Country. The event provided a great platform for companies to discuss the latest trends in the field, exchange inspiring ideas, and make lucrative deals. The organizers mentioned more than 5 million business contracts were signed at the trade show.

The exhibition was divided into five sections: Industrial Automation, Digital Factory, Energy, Industrial Supply, and Research & Technology. The fourth industrial revolution, or Industry 4.0, with interoperability being one of its key principles, was the focus of many discussions and presentations. The automation and digitalization of industry, the concept of machine learning, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) attracted great attention.

The organizers estimate that over 400 innovative technologies and specific application examples were showcased at the event. Augmented reality industrial wearables, industrial asset management and optimization solutions, predictive maintenance applications, and machine learning algorithms were of special interest to Auriga’s experts.
