The New Year 2020 has just kicked off, and it is shaping up to be a great one, especially because it will mark an important milestone for Auriga—the 30th anniversary of the company. While we are all making new plans and resolutions, we look back at 2019 as a productive and vibrant year for us.
Auriga continued to grow steadily throughout 2019, not only in numbers but also in engineers’ skills, quality of services, customer trust, and market positioning. We won several new clients, mainly operating in medical device markets and AI-related solutions, while continuously expanding business with existing customers, some of which will celebrate their 25th year of collaboration with Auriga (and we’re not bragging here). This year, we witnessed an upsurge of interest in embedded, simulation, AI, data science, and IoT solutions with an increase of R(esearch) tasks for R&D projects—a great proportion of our customers are chasing emerging technologies to stay ahead of the competition.
None of these achievements could have been reached without our most valuable asset: our employees. Their uniqueness, openness, responsibility, selfless work, willingness to go above and beyond, and desire to be part of the team and to progress further with Auriga make us a company valued by clients worldwide. Thanks to all of you for your hard work! Last year, more than 50 talented, motivated, and responsible engineers joined our various locations, and over 20% of engineers advanced their careers through either upgrading their skills or moving into new roles as Team Leads and Project Managers.
We asked our experts to share the most important highlights of the year, and here are the six biggest milestones we achieved at Auriga in 2019.
New CEO Announced
In the beginning of 2019, Auriga announced the appointment of Vyacheslav Vanyulin as CEO. Mr. Vanyulin has been with Auriga since 2000, gaining experience in several positions, from software engineer to CxO-level roles. He is an accomplished software executive with over 20 years’ experience in the industry and a proven management track record of driving Auriga’s growth in operations, sales, and technology expertise. As CEO, Mr. Vanyulin is responsible for running all facets of the business.
Vyacheslav Vanyulin commented on his first year as CEO:
The year, 2019, was both challenging and rewarding for Auriga and for me personally. We won several new clients, strengthened relationships with our strategic partners, and opened a new R&D lab for medical device testing. However, we have a lot more to achieve in 2020. Our goals for the year ahead are ambitious: provide positive experiences for our customers and exceed their high expectations.
Once Again Rated Among Best Outsourcing Companies
In 2019, Auriga made The Best of the Global Outsourcing 100® list by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals® (IAOP®) for the twelfth consecutive year. The year’s rating was based on the evaluation of the scoring results over the entirety of The Global Outsourcing 100® program. Auriga received special distinction in the areas of customer references, programs for innovation, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Yuri Kirkel, Executive Vice President at Auriga, commented on this remarkable achievement:
We thank the IAOP® independent jury for recognizing our hard work. It is a great honor to be ranked among the world’s top outsourcing service providers for the twelfth consecutive year. In 2020, we will do our absolute best to further raise the extremely high bar on service quality and strengthen our strategic engagements. Our ultimate goal of providing the greatest value to our customers remains as vital as it has ever been!
New Software R&D Lab Launched
In the spring, Auriga’s engineering center in Vilnius, Lithuania, opened a new lab for software testing of the medical devices of one of the company’s long-term clients, the world leader in the medical device market. The project evolved from conceptualization to a crystalized plan in just a couple of months, resulting in a fully equipped advanced lab. Since June 2019, the project, as with all other projects for this client, has been carried out according to the customer’s processes and the IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971 requirements.
Sergey Berezko, Director of Business Development at Auriga, emphasized:
Auriga has accumulated extensive experience of setting up and running embedded R&D labs. They help us cut development and testing time significantly—and this is what makes us stand out among many other providers. As for our new medical lab, the testing project has been carried out efficiently, and the customer is satisfied.
Auriga–Parasoft Partnership Established
In the summer, Auriga announced a partnership with Parasoft, the global leader in software test automation for embedded, enterprise, and IoT markets. This partnership combines Parasoft’s automated testing solutions with Auriga’s consulting services, helping our customers successfully face today’s most strategic development initiatives, such as safety-critical testing, continuous testing, Agile/DevOps, and security.
Andrey Shastin, Technology & Business Partnering Executive at Auriga, had the following to say regarding the partnership:
We are excited to have partnered with Parasoft in helping companies ensure the embedded software safety and reliability of their mission-critical products. Parasoft and Auriga complement each other, bringing new perspectives on different types of software automated testing and the adoption of cybersecurity requirements, with a primary focus on accelerating the outcomes of customers’ static and dynamic code analysis approaches.
Hilti POC Contest Participation
Auriga is always up for a challenge and seeking new ways of introducing our expertise. While 2018 was the year of Innovation Tech Days, in 2019, we tried something very new and participated in a Proof of Concept (POC) contest on the topic of predictive maintenance organized by Hilti Corporation, a global leader in providing cutting-edge tools, software, and services to the construction industry. The team presented their hypotheses and suggestions at the finals held at the Hilti corporate headquarters in Schaan, Liechtenstein. Auriga scored highest in the technical category due to its strong data approach.
Elena Baranova, Director of Engineering at Auriga, said:
Auriga participated in the Hilti POC Contest for the first time, and it was an inspiring challenge requiring out-of-the-box thinking and a creative approach. We are proud to be praised by Hilti for the technical competence demonstrated by our team.
2019 Clutch Global Leader Award
The end of the year was marked by a new award: Auriga was named a Clutch Global Leader in the development category. This means that we are one of the top 15 IoT Development companies on Clutch worldwide. Auriga is also listed among Boston’s best developers on The Manifest, a sister site of Clutch.
Svetlana Anishchenko, Director of Marketing at Auriga, commented on the new accomplishment:
Clutch is an essential reference for businesses seeking new and expanded relationships with the leading companies in the industry. Their rankings are transparent and based on client opinions. We are thankful to all our customers who took the time to leave us reviews on Clutch, making this award possible!
The New Year is always a new beginning in our lives. May 2020 bring you new opportunities, achievements, and amazing experiences. Let’s make the coming year a productive, positive, and prosperous time!
